Google Chrome review, advantages, disadvantages & features

Google Chrome is an extremely fast web browser, It takes only seconds to install, It loads and displays the pages very quickly, You can drag the tabs out into separate windows without difficulty, and back in again with your mouse.

Advantages of Google Chrome

Google Chrome has a very basic, simple design, making it easy to use, It has start-up page that lists the most frequent pages you have visited and allows you to click and access them with ease.

Google Chrome is fast, Voice search, Leading support for HTML 5, Good security, Syncing, Built-in Flash player and PDF reader, other browsers also feature plug-ins but none have quite as many amazing extensions as Google Chrome.

Google Chrome also gives you the option of starting up in any tab configuration you want, whether a custom setup or the set of tabs you had open in your previous session, Other browsers require third-party adds-on to provide this capability.

The Chrome Store is loaded with Adds-On that let you do everything from increasing communication abilities between your browser and your phone, to translate the information and store it offline, Google Chrome is the safest browser out there, It had never been hacked, It can be modified and personalized just the way you want it.

Many business professionals now use Gmail as their main email platform, Google Chrome syncs with all Google programs, including Gmail which can make navigating the Internet more personalized and convenient.

Built into Google Chrome is an Adobe Flash plugin, so unlike Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, you don’t have to install the plugin separately to view the web animation, Google Chrome has an integrated Adobe PDF reader.

Google Chrome offers many security advantages of its own, The browser’s Incognito private browsing mode that prevents the websites from using the tracking cookies and otherwise recording your browsing history.

Google Chrome’s Safe Browsing feature protects you from downloading malware, and Google Chrome will alert you when you are about to visit the websites that are known to be harmful, It doesn’t have a built-in  Do Not Track feature.

Google Chrome allows the users to have multiple tabs open without slowing down page-load times, this feature complements the busy, multitasking business professional in particular.

Disadvantages of Google Chrome

Google Chrome uses up a lot of memory (RAM) when running it, If you accidentally close the browser, It will close all the tabs opened without warning, It has no longer the fastest browser on several benchmarks, Do Not Track privacy feature is buried and discouraged.

Adds-on is a huge draw for Firefox fans, and none of these are available in Chrome yet, You can’t synchronize, One big plus of Firefox is its ability to synchronize across multiple computers using Mozilla’s Weave option, Google Chrome doesn’t yet have that capability.

Chrome’s History functions are less versatile than the powerhouse ones built by Firefox, Google Chrome offers only a simple screen showing your day-by-day history, The ability to sort everything by date, site, or most visited appear to have joined the distaff and spindle on the ash heap.

Google Chrome is not as configurable as Firefox, There is no way to configure your navigation bar other than toggling the home button and showing extension buttons, Extensions have way less power over adding more advanced features to your browser.

You can’t use user styles on Chrome itself, Themes can’t change the icons of Chrome’s buttons at all, It is missing Firefox’s panorama features which lets you easily sort the tabs into tab groups, Google Chrome is pretty good at moving tabs but batch moving tabs between windows is still not nearly as quick and straightforward as a panorama.

You can’t control how Flash updates, If there’s a problem with Flash updating, you can’t make Chrome check for updates on command, If you want to install an experimental or debug version of Flash, you have to jump through some extra hoops to avoid Chrome’s built-in version of Flash.

Google Chrome does not sync keyword bookmarks and searches at all, With other browsers like Firefox and Opera being really competitive with memory footprints and speed, you can no longer say Chrome is definitely the fastest browser ever.
