Many VPS hosting plans are easily scalable, You can start off in your virtual environment with few amounts of resources that you need and then you can increase your hosting plan to accommodate your needs, You do not need to pay for excessive resources that you have not yet grown into.

VPS Hosting helps you have more control over your virtual server than you do with shared hosting, You will have the root access and you can use the scripts that may not be allowed in a shared hosting environment.

There is the same technical support with the shared hosting for most issues, You can control the server, You can manage it as a full server, You can remove the control panel and install another one, You can replace the webmail interface with another one, You can change the root Apache config https.conf and root php.ini config.

The cost of the servers is much less than with dedicated servers, Each virtual server is segregated from the other servers on the same platform and Every server does not affect on the other server’s activity and customization.

The performance of VPS is higher than the shared server and It is lower than a dedicated server, As it has allocated an amount of resources in terms of CPU usage, memory and RAM, The virtualization works best for a small and medium-size website, It is difficult for another server to invade the security.

You should move from shared hosting to VPS hosting when your website is consuming all your processors, when your website is gobbling your CPU and RAM resources, and when you feel the need for complete control.

You need VPS hosting when you plan to send more emails when you are looking for excellent performance and stability when you feel that you are ready to rise above the rest, when you want to expand the existing performance level, and when you want to customize the appearance and settings.

You should know how to manage the server, you have to learn and study carefully, You screw up something on a VPS and you may have a risk, it can be unusable, or even worse up and running but with dozens of security holes.

There is a maintenance problem, It is difficult for VPS web hosts to maintain their servers as every client has his operating system and software, Maintaining all of the operating systems in the server and ensuring maximum up-time will be difficult, There are many factors depend on it such as the security, the maintenance, and updates.

The allocated resources are sometimes not provided by the hosting provider, This happens because the virtual servers do not use their full resources, VPS Hosting is difficult to manage, This problem arises when there is great or unexpected traffic in the server, There are security issues, A breach in security or software failure can be an issue when it affects the performance of the entire server.

Nice article, I agree with the majority. If someone needs a VPS due to a high traffic site, then of course they have no option. Almost always they end up going with a managed VPS then because they are not certain how to manage a Linux box.
